The Japanese stratagy of WW2 was to win a quick victory over the only power that could stop them from complete control of the Pacific and all of its western and southern islands (to them) and possibly to take New Zealand and Australia. The United States stood in their way. Since the US Navy was our tool to project power throughout the Pacific it had to be destroyed-hence Pearl Harbor. It takes a long time to build huge ships and by destroying our Pacific fleet we could not have projected power for years to come. By then Japan would have a stronghold on most of the Pacific and would have kept it. The Japanese were very successful in the Pearl Harbour attack, but not completely. Our large aircraft carriers were at sea at the time of the attck and were preserved to fight in the future. As the war progressed,Japan even resorted to suicide airplane pilots and were prepared for every man woman and child to die defending their island. It took two atom bombs for the Emperor to finally tell the military commanders to surrender. Causeing the the death of 50 thousnds of Japens civlianes, that was the major complain agaist U.S.A. doorping the A-Bomb. It is a shame that militarism and expansionism took root in Japan and led so many of her people to starvation and death. They have been pacifistic for nearly 60 years. Japan's strategy was to pretend to fight a war of Asian liberation while at the same time plundering the riches of Asia and hauling them back to Japan. A massive deception executed by the thugs who ran Japan. To a degree this worked, however they were forced to share a percentage of their riches with the competition.

Answer

There were overall strategies and substrategies.

The overall was to put the most military emphasis against Germany. The reason for this was that Germany was by far the most able military power faced by the three major Allied countries. Germany also possessed a potent scientific community and there was fear that Germany might develop super weapons such as atomics, giving them an enormous advantage towards winning the war. This strategy was also in deference to Churchill/Britain, to whom/which America felt obligated culturally.

Otherwise the American strategy was to take the fight to the enemy as quickly as possible. To achieve this, raw American army troops were thrown into combat in north Africa with limited training and thus, mixed results. Deferring the the military ignoramus Churchill, the Americans then got bogged down in indecisive trench style warfare in Italy. The American strategy, as noted above, was to take the fight directly to the enemy quickly and decisively. To do this the Americans wanted to invade France in 1942 if possible and in 1943 at latest. Due to British footdragging the French invasion did not take place until June 1944, nearly a year beyond when it would have achieved the best results. This was not the American strategy in action, but the British who to a great extent had veto power over American stratgy in Europe.

America was better at air combat and flew thousands of aircraft from the factories in America to Britain to begin a major bombing campaign against German industrial and military targets. American efforts here were costly but successful, since the American strategy was to fly daylight sorties which were reasonably accurate, versus the British strategy of night attacks using saturation bombing, largely aimed at civilian targets.

In the Pacific, the USA early planned only to hold the Japanese and prevent further expansion by them. But, when the American Marines fought a brutal and successful stalling action against the Japanese in the Solomon Island area, this strategy turned quickly to an island leapfrogging counter offensive. This process accelerated after the virtual collapse of Japanese offensive power following the American victory at Midway Island.

America excells at supply and logistics so a huge effort was made to supply the Soviets with all sorts of equipment. The most successful part of this supply effort was to provide the Soviets forces with American trucks, tires, boots and food. These four items greatly magnified the Soviets military power at the same time that Germany was running low on motor transport, rubber and fuel.

Part of the American strategy was also to develop the atomic bomb. Basically it was just hoped that this would match the German effort but in the event Germany was passed by the American effort. The German military collapsed before the American atomic program was complete, so Japan was used as a test case for actual military deployment of this weapon.

Overall the American strategy was a great success. The supply of the Soviets enabled them not just to stay in the war but come roaring back in late 1943, ultimately beating the Americans to Berlin and basically winning the war in Europe. The Japanese were defeated by combined arms, a great strength of American military might. Such was the power projected by the American bombing command and naval forces that no USA troops were needed to invade the home islands of Japan.....an incredible statement considering the near suicidal tenacity of most of the Japanese military.

The Germans used blitz. They sent the German Air Force, then they sent in heavy armor like the Tiger and King Tiger or the Panzer (Panzer means Armor in German). They where followed by infantry that would clean up the last of the remaining resistance.

One strategy of World War 2 it that the United States had the Navajos create a code for them. The Japanese were never able to break the code.

The Japanese advanced fast and took many islands in the South Pacific and bunkered down for the siege. They where fearless warriors. They hid in bushes and when the US walked by, they would charge out trying to slash and shoot them.

The Allies, not counting the US, where caught off guard in the early stages of the war, so they where driven back with ease. When they went back to get their land, they fought against many bunkers and entrenched positions. They landed in the famous D-Day invasion. From there, they slowly went from town to town, river to river, and capitol to capitol.

First of all they attacked Pearl Harbor. The US main naval base with out reason. Then they were taking over many countries like China. (Japan was one of the Axis powers during WWII) The US wanted to stop them from taking over the whole world. We entered war against them two days after the Pearl Harbor attack. We dropped a atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. (first time ever an atomic bomb had ever been used) The US after many years of fighting won the war.
They attacked the usa army The South East Asia Co Prosperity Sphere was an attempt by Japan to dominate Asia by colonisation. It included the invasion of Manchuria, China, the Philipines, the Dutch East Indies, (Now Indonesia) Malaya ,Singapore, Burma and so on. To achieve this they had a superb Navy and an Army with a fanatical devotion to the Emporer, Hirohito. It began with the attack on the Hawaiian base of Pearl Harbor in Dec 1941, which is best depicted in the excellent film Tora Tora Tora. It ended in August 1945 with the destruction of the cities of Hiroshima & Nagasaki by Atomic bombing.

In World War 1, the strategies were trenches. In WW2, the weapons for artillery and hand weapons were to powerful for trenches. Troops moved in medium sized units. they dug foxholes when they stopped to take cover in and fight from. there wasn't much charging by U.S troops. the weapons were way to powerful for stationary war.
