In 1844 at the age of 25, she married John Tubman, a free African American. Since she was a slave, she knew there was going to be a chance that she was going to be sold and her marrige could be split apart. Harriet never had kids. In 1869, she had her second marrige to Nelson Davis. They had a long marrige for about 19 years. She didn't have any kids when she married both of them.

Harriet Tubman escaped from slavery in 1849. She met William Still after she escaped. Still was one of the Underground Railroad's busiest "station masters." He was the one who showed Harriet Tubman about the "Underground Railroad." Harriet was thinking to much about her family that were still slaves in the south, so she helped them escape from slavery. She helped about 750 slaves escape.
