During the latter part of the US Revolutionary War, and somewhat afterwards, Benjamin Franklin was the Ambassodor to France. Following that, in 1787, he served as a Delagate to the Philidelphia Convention. Though it was an honorary position, and he did not engage in much debate, he is the only Founding Father to have signed all four of the founding documents of the United States, The Declaration of Independence, The Treaty of Paris, The Treaty of Alliance with France, and the United States Constitution. He participated in the Constitutional Convention in 1781 along with George Washington. He then in 1787 made a persuasive speech that made all the delegates of the Constitutional Convention sign.
