I no from first hand experience that it messes up the shocks and probably if you ride it to long messed up it can damage your wheel well and from all the pressure being on the front when you get the leaf spring fixed you probably gonna have some front suspension problems that's what happened to my cutlass
Could be the dowel in the spring is broken off or lose u-bolts.

Leaf springs can not be repaired, if they are broken or sagged, they should be replaced. You can buy complete sets from salvage yards or spring specialists.
