The tropical zone, also known as the tropics or the torrid zone is an area where the sun is at a point where it is directly overhead at some point during the year. Being near the area, these areas encompass the hottest places in the world. Countries in this area include northern South American countries which include Brazil and Peru, Central African countries like the DR Congo and the Central African Republic as well as countries in southeast Asia such as India, Thailand and Indonesia.
