remove your spark plugs if they are black the carb may be running to rich. The color should be more of a light tan color if the carb idle mix is adjusted properly

Q: What could cause this. Ive got a 1984 cj7 you just put a new 2 barrel carburetor on it at half throttle and only at half throttle it will spit and sputter and back fire you also can smell gas real bad?
