It is probably because you are ovulating (releasing an egg) which often causes sharp pains. However, if it is really painful (so painful that you can barely walk) you could have a cyst, which needs medical attention

∙ 12y agoWhen we ovulate or getting our period it's common that they ache. Itś not supposed to be a sharp pain though so if that happens see a doctor. There is the possibility of a cyst or ectopic pregnancy if you've had unprotected sex..
