A flatbed truck normally does not have any sides, so that wide loads can extend over the edge of trailer. A trailer with sides would not allow wide loads and thus could not be considered a flat bed.
with an n14 it more than likely is an injector .. it could be air in line or turbo boost sensor but more oftenthan not its the injector
