Any college as the FBI seeks applicants with all types of skills and training, not just criminal justice. For instance, a while back they were especially looking for Accountants. Your best bet is to go to the highest caliber college you can afford and gain admission to, study hard, get good grades, and keep your nose clean. Doing well will be easier if you chose a major and minor that you really like, especially if you already have some adept in those areas. Save your partying till after graduation-four more years really isn't that long in the scheme of things!

A background in criminal justice is preferred, but not required. Aside from passing a background check and physical fitness, and psychological fitness tests, qualified individuals must also complete extensive training as mandated by the organization.

It's not the college so much as the degree; usually a degree in criminal justice, sociology, criminology etc. Prior experience in law enforcement and a Bachelor's degree in on of those fields is preferred.

A four year college degree from any accredited university is required before applying to the FBI. It is probably helpful if the degree included law enforcement and/or criminology and psychology courses.

If you study Criminal Justice in Ireland can you become an FBI agent?

You can become an FBI agent after studying any subject, anywhere. The minimum educational requirement to become an FBI agent is a bachelor's degree in any subject.Criminal justice might not be the best field of study for this career. The FBI is partial to law school graduates, accountants, linguists, engineers, and scientists. Most of the knowledge one would accumulate in a criminal justice degree program is taught during New Agent Training at the FBI Academy. There are many applicants for Special Agent jobs, and one needs to have special skills and considerable accomplishments to be considered. One critical requirement to become an agent is U.S. citizenship. If you studied criminal justice in Ireland as an Irish citizen, you would first have to emigrate to the United States and obtain citizenship before you could apply to the FBI.
