Suspense films have changed a lot over the years, suspense movies just used to be fun to watch and a fantastic film. Now most suspense films are mostly filled with violence and Horror. Standards may have changed because people were getting tired of the some horror films being seen over and over, and needed something new to watch. Most movies of that year would be different because there would be lots of changes in language, there used to be minimal swearing now we can not get away from it. Films of the 1960's were more made-up than they are today in movies they generally followed the guide line of introduction, climatic point, climax and more resolution, today there may be a number of climax's or climatic points. The climax in the 1960's was much more exaggerated with skills of voice and movement. In horror and suspense films in 1960 would almost always be a villain and a hero, this was a style of drama, called melodrama. Films today may be more political, social and historically based. In the 1960's, smoking was a gesture often used in films because it highlighted a person's class status.

Some films pushed the envelope morals-wise by digressions into such thematics as homosexuality ( The sergeant, Midnight Cowboy, Gaily Gaily) some films dealt with drug abuse among the film colony- a subject previously taboo- the Jacqueline Suzann novel Valley of the Dolls- made into a film (Sans) Judy Garland, who was originally considered for one of the roles- is also credited with popularizing the term Funny Farm as a synonym for Mental Hospital. On the other hand some rather deep but not action-oriented social problems such as miscegeneation ( race-mixing) and inter-religious tolerance or the lack thereof did not fare well- in the sixties. so it goes.
