In the units computer an algorithm is in operation looking at hours of engine operation, engine temperatures, speeds etc. From the sensor inputs the system calculates when to tell you to change the oil. The frequency of service depends on how many short trips are taken versus long trips and other combined sensor inputs. Once the car is serviced, turn the key on (do NOT start the engine), depress the gas pedal to the floor three times and the computer will be reset. If the light does not reset, repeat the procedure. Again do not start the engine as flooring the accelerator will race the engine and damage could occur.
Every sensor on the engine and transmission can cause the light to come on.
no it doesnt
That REQUIRES an ENGINE SCANNER to do that.
Yes but, if the light is flashing no.
That requires an OBDII engine scanner.
Turn the ignition key to the run position and pump the accelerator 3 times within 5 seconds.
The vehicle is due a service soon
Low coolant
engine code reader go to autozone its free tgere
change the fuel pressure regulator ,i had the same problem on my silverado 2000. that fixed the misfire.
For the sake of simplicity, what engine light are you referring to?
key on engine off press accelerator pedal to the floor five times very rapidly should reset
