When you stop the blood flow and then let the blood back into your arm you get pins and needles, it can be caused by learning on it.

A stroke or nerve damage would cause a lack of sensation in the fingers.

The spasms you are feeling are muscle spasms. Muscle spasms are mostly caused by dehydration so you should try to hydrate yourself to stop them.
i'ts probably most likely cramp, i would see your local doctor immediatley- the cause could be over excercise or strain of the muscles.
