Muscle fatigue and persistent cramping could be a sign of a thyroid condition or side effects of thyroid medication as your body adjusts to the drug. I know of this because I have recently been diagnosed with an under active thyroid. Or it could be a sign of dehydration or a low potassium level.

Some are the reason of muscle fatigue and cramps are Altered neuromuscular control, Dehydration, Electrolyte depletion, Doing a new activity, change in climate.
Having had "charley horse" cramps since I was quite young I have looked for answers to this question for years. I found out that there are two things that are believed to cause muscle cramps. Low potassium is one and dehydration is the other. I read this in several web sites and/or medical "lifestyle-type" books. I've been told it is necessary to eat a banana(a good source of potassium) every day. As for water( I read this on line)- I found that if I drink about 12- 20 ounces of water several times a day-I don't have cramps AND generally feel better anyway!

Although I have never read about this, I personally came upon this solution myself:For several years now, I have found that drinking a cup of warm milk relieved the cramps- I don't think there is any reason for this-maybe it haelped me to relax?

It's wise to get a full physical and blood work-up done by your doctor. If there is nothing wrong then you need to eat better (get some Potassium in your body from baked potatoes and eat those skins and bananas.) If you have a tummy get it in shape because large tummys pull on the spine and can cause Back pain. Muscle weakness can simply be from the lack of use (not enough exercise and sitting around too much) and not enough Potassium. It's time to see your doctor.

My best bet is a slipped disc or similar causing impingement to the nerve root.It is common to have effects posterior and anterior (front and back) or in this case, lower back and stomach - at the same time. The medical system / research is still lacking in this area stillafter so many years, symptoms and numbers affected. Usually Scoliosis doesn't cause any fatigue. I have Scoliosis myself, but sometimes it feels like i have weight on my shoulders or back. My Doctor says that it shouldn't be causing to much pain if any at all, So there you have it :)
