Any small appliance or other piece of household or industrial electrical equipment which has been designed to take a small current (usually not much more than 5 Amps) from the standard household alternating current electricity supply in the US, Canada and other countries which use the same system, which is 60 Hz, 120 Volts plus or minus 10%. The actual voltage supplied could therefore vary from 108 Volts to 132 Volts. To get the actual figures for your locality it is best to ask a local licensed electrician or your local electricity supply company.

Any device rated from 110 volts to 120 volts will work. The two voltages are a nominal figure. The lower range of voltages can go from 110 to 120 volts. All equipment rated within the ranges from 110 to 120 volts are all compatible with each other. This ten volt range is brought about by the power company, as they have a responsibility to keep voltages within a certain 10% range. The load will only notice a difference of 1% on the load current. e.g. Wattage load of 2400. Amps = watts/volts. 2400/110V = 21 amps. 2400/120V = 20 amps.

What is a VAC outlet?

That is the normal electric outlet found on the walls of your home in the USA

When you say an outlet 220v 30a what does it means?

This is a special purpose outlet, likely for a dryer. Normally in a house electric panel you have 120 VAC as the normal and 220 or 240 as a higher voltage. The 30 A is for 30 Amps. You can only plug in an appliance that has those ratings. You can't plug in a 120 V device.

In North America what is the normal voltage for a house?

Residential applications are around 110v to 120v, 220-240v, in this range, its 120 volts nominal to a typical wall outlet, however you may read anywhere from 110volts to 120 volts or so, the highest I have seen personally in residential was 245volts.

What is the ac voltage reading between the bare copper wire and the hot black wire 120 vac or zero volt?

Should be about 120 VAC.

How much current will a 120 VAC wall outlet pass through a connected 20 ohm circuit load?

The equation that you are looking for is I = E/R. Amps = 120/20 = 6 amps. This is one of the basic equations of Ohm's Law.

What does a television do?

Nothing- it just sits there. If it is plugged in a wall 110 vac outlet and is cut "on" it may show a snowy white picture. If there is an antenna or tv cable connected to it it may show some movies or news reports and and 7000 commercials.

Can you plug in a 125 volt 30 amp plug in a 120 volt 30 amp outlet?

If the plug fits you are good to go. The typical range of residential voltage is from 110 to 125 VAC. You are fine within this range.

What is a normal AC reading in a house with meter set on 250 acv?

First of all, may we say with all due respect that nobody who is as unsure of the difference between current and voltage as the poster of this question seems to be ought to be sticking things into a household AC outlet. In the USA and Canada, the voltage present at the outlet should be 115 to 120 VAC. If two different meters, or one meter set to two different scales, produce different readings, then at least one of them is defective.
