Homepathic Rhus Tox can help at the first sign of hives. I'm not having too much luck with Benadryl but you can try that too - 1mg per pound of bodyweight per day (eg., 50 lb. dog gets 25mg 2x a day)

Oatmeal bath (put old fashioned rolled oats in a sock and let the bathwater from the faucet run through it)

Try washing her off with dishwashing soap such as Dawn to remove any allergens/oils on the skin.

Tea in the bathwater would help too, either green or black, since the tannins in the tea will relieve itchiness.

Try rubbing olive, coconut, or avocado oil into her skin once out of the bath to soothe her and replenish moisture after the dishwashing soap strips the oils.

Remove him from the source of the reaction. Bathe him with mild soap like Ivory, and rinse him very, very thoroughly. Watch that he is eating only appropriate foods and keep him cool in a shady place, as the heat from the sun can make hives worse. Antihistamines aren't very effective in horses, but can be given. Steroids work in people, but can cause laminitis in horses and should be avoided.

Honestly it depends on what type of dog you have.for example lets say i have a golden retriever and it gets stung by a bee it wont really hurt but the dog will whine alot.so lets say a jack russel terrier gets stung it might get blind or die but mostly it dies.well my point was if a big dog gets stung it wont hurt as much.if a small dog gets stung take it to a doggy hospital

To some degree, this will depend upon what your dog is allergic to and how severe the allergy is - your veterinarian can work with you on this to figure out what the allergens are as well as develop a plan specific to your dog to manage his Allergies.

In general, veterinarians start with the simple to fix allergies and as those are ruled out or managed look to see if there are further more complicated allergic symptoms that need to be managed. The first step is usually to check for fleas and ticks, and make sure the dog is on a high-quality flea/tick preventive year-round; at the same time, any skin infections that are present will be treated. If that doesn't solve the problem, the next step is usually a food trial - swap the dog to a novel protein diet and see if that fixes the problem. Flea allergy and food allergy are the two most common allergies, and now are fairly easily managed with flea/tick preventive and a novel protein diet (there are multiple options available commercially).

If the dog still has allergy symptoms, the next step is usually a skin prick test to see what allergens are causing the most problems, similar to what a human gets up and down their back at the human allergy doctor. From this, the veterinarian can determine which allergens are the biggest problem and have a special allergy shot formulated for the dog - as the owner, you would administer this shot twice a week initially, then slowly back off the frequency as the strength increases until the symptoms are managed adequately.

There are some simple things you can do around the house - keep your dog on a good flea/tick preventive (as popular as the products are, the Hartz line of products and flea collars just don't work as well as Frontline, Revolution or Sentinal do). Keep the house clean, including vacuuming the bedding and cushions on furniture, to minimize dust mite dander; use a HEPA filter if available. When pollen levels are really high, keep your dog inside at dawn and dusk, and don't walk through tall weeds or fields.
