What can beauty therapy do for Arthritis?
Microwave therapy is a type of deep heat therapy. The electromagnetic waves pass between electrodes placed on the patient's skin. This creates heat that increases blood flow a…nd relieves muscle and joint pain. Arthritis is a chronic condition which causes inflammation and pain in the joints, including the many joints found in the feet. The two types of arthritis are osteoarthritis arthritis which is usually associated with age and wear and tear on the joints, and rheumatoid arthritis which is an autoimmune disease that attacks the cartilage and tissue surrounding the joints. Many doctors recommend both heat and cold treatments to help reduce inflammation and ease the pain and stiffness that comes with arthritis. A wheat bag or heat pad is a convenient method of applying heat therapy and can be easily heated in a microwave. They may also be frozen and used as cold compress. Heat therapy with wheat filled microwavable slippers can reduce the pain of arthritis in the feet by increasing circulation and relaxing muscles. Heat Therapy for Osteoarthritis Nearly 70 per cent of people over 70 years of age suffer from osteoarthritis, although it is fairly rare in people under the age of 50. Arthritis of the feet can seriously impact an individual's mobility, but self treatment with heated slippers can ease pain and improve mobility for many arthritis suffers. There is no cure for osteoarthritis and medical treatment is limited to medications that relieve pain and inflammation. It is always important to take up natural methods to get proper joint pain relief .Those who have severe inflammation may get greater relief from a combination of over the counter analgesics and heat therapy such as using a pair of microwave slippers. .

Therapeutic massage is NOT a beauty treatment, and cannot be considered in the same vein as (for instance) a facial. It is bona-fide therapy which targets specific muscles … or muscle groups in order to relieve the tension within them. It should not be confused with Chiropractic, which is designed to manipulate bones within the body's skeltal system.
i am also interested in studying beauty therapy. In my school we have this thing called 'business back to school day' where you have to learn about the job you would like to d…o an create a cv, after that you have a interview with a local business person and they give you advice. Anyways i found out all of this on beauty therapy - . facials - cleansing, massaging and toning the skin . application and advice on cosmetic make-up . eyebrow shaping and eyelash colouring . manicures, pedicures and other nail treatments such as extensions and nail art . removal of unwanted facial and body hair by waxing, sugaring or threading (depilation) or electrolysis (epilation) . electro-therapy treatments to improve body tone and shape . non-surgical skin rejuvenation therapies . UV (ultraviolet) and spray tanning. . but dont worry if you go to collage they will teach you all the above and you may work in a shop for 3 days a week to enhance your learning. [ i got all my information from http://careersadvice.direct.gov.uk/helpwithyourcareer/jobprofiles/profiles/profile104/] . hope this helps... rach x

Only massage in which the therapist is applying deep pressure or compression to the arthritic joints would be contraindicated. Stretching arthritic joints into painful or stre…nuous positions would also be contraindicated. All forms of gentle stretching and massage, as well as deep tissue massage, as long as it's not directly over the arthritic joint, or causing pain in those joints, would be acceptable.
