Depending on the specific program of study, you may be required to take some prerequisite course work if you have not done so already. Make sure you totally understand where this type of degree will lead (specifically), in terms of overall career goals and objectives. What will you have at the end? Will you be a clinical psychologist, a counselor, a school psychologist, or an individual who just has a masters, or doctorate in psychology? For the amount of time, effort, and expense you will be putting into this, you want to have something tangible at the end.

∙ 14y agoYes, you need at least a bachelor's degree to get a masters or PhD, Though many times you can come from a different major. It is still preferable to have at least a minor in psychology however, but at most universities that is pretty easy to obtain. Other majors that psychology grad schools like are math degrees and the Social Sciences like sociology.
