Moody, dark, sinister. Lady Macbeth is pushing him to kill the king so they can have the power. Yet, he isn't so sure he wants to do it, so she does the deed " her hand will not come clean" this is her guilt. The 3 witches tell the tale of what will happen, but they are not listened to by MacBeth and their foretold events do happen. As the trees move into the castle we know that murder does not pay and it brings guilt and ruin.

It really depends on which descriptions you are talking about. The bloody sergeant's description of the ferocious and triumphant battle? Banquo's description of the "pleasant seat" of Macbeth's castle at Inverness? Macbeth's description of the sounds of night, "the shard-borne beetle with his drowsy hums"? Lady Macduff's description of the world "where to do harm is often laudable"? Malcolm's lengthy and tedious descriptions of his vicious nature? Or his description of the Macbeths as "this dead butcher and his fiendlike queen"? All of these create different moods.
