From thickest string to thinnest, (lowest in pitch to highest in pitch) B E A D G C.
From a regular four string bass, it has one lower string and one higher string.
A Bass guitar with 6 string. It a a 4 string bass with two added strings (a lower B and a higher C) The normal tuning is C G D A E B
The stings for a 6-string bass are the same gauge and tuning as the ones for a 5-string. The only difference is that a 6-string has a 32 gauge low string. The bridge and tuners should work with the 32 gauge string. Because you are going to be moving all of the strings down one (assuming you want to illuminate the thinnest string), you will be increasing the thickness of all of the strings. You are going to need to adjust the bridge because the neck has a rounded edge and if you don't adjust the string height, you will get a lot of fret buzz.
The difference is the amount of strings. A six string doesnt have better chords than a twelve stringed. The twelve string sounds much more rich and has a unique sound, along with more chords to play.
Most commonly 4 strings, tuned E, A, D,G. The 5 string bass is also fairly common, with an additional lower string tuned to a B. There are also 6 string basses and even up to 12 strings bassrs, but these are highly uncommon and you will struggle to find one for sale in your local music shop.
The Bass guitar only has 4 strings, but are thicker to create a deeper rhthym and beat. Improvement: Some bass guitars have more. like the war bass can have 11-12 i think but if your trying to find a good beginner bass id start with the four string one. A bass guitar generally has 4 strings, E A D and G, while there are other varieties. A Low B ( B E A D G ) 5 string is also widely available, to enhance the Bass-y sounds one may wish to play with, as well as six string varieties, with an expanded upper range, and which are extremely difficult to play due to the wide fretboard, are also available, however less commonly than other variants.
the Standard is 4 string but there are also 5 string, 6 string and etc.

6 Bass has 4 or sometimes 5. There are 12-string guitars that have 2 types strings for each of the 6 notes on the regular one.

The double bass has 4 strings. It is a classical instrument that is related to the violin and cello, but is the largest in this family. There are basses that have more strings, but they are usually electric instruments, such as 5 or 6 stringed basses. As well, there are 8 and 12 string basses that have "duplicate strings" that are tuned to a higher octave to it's root string (similar to a 12-string guitar).
It depends on which instrument you're talking about. For example, a Bass Guitar has 4 strings while a regular guitar has 6. Violins all have 4 strings, whether they are bass or not. Each musical instrument will have its own number of strings depending on what sort of instrument it is.

4 usually, although one can get 5 and 6 string basses. However, it's best to play a four-string first.
It'susually the guitar with 4 strings, but these days the come in 5 or 6 as well. the strings are a lot fatter/thicker than the normal 6 string varietyand sound deeper hence the word bass, meaning lower sound

The classical string instruments: violin, viola, cello and bass normally have 4 strings. Violin: E(highest), A, D, G(lowest); Viola: A(highest), D, G, C(lowest); Cello: A(highest), D, G, C(lowest) but all 4 are an octave below the viola. Bass: G(highest), D, A, E. The high G string on the bass is the same note as the G string (2nd to lowest string) on the cello. Some double basses are configured with 5 strings, either with a B below the low E, or a C above the high G. An electric bass (sometimes called bass guitar) has the same 4 notes as the string bass. A guitar has 6 strings and some have 12 strings (I don't remember the notes for these). I think a banjo has 5 strings.
