  • We can use renewable energy repeatedly without depleting it.
  • No contribution to global warming,
  • No polluting emissions
  • Low cost applications when counting all costs
  • Saving on health and its costs

The main advantage is the fact that these sources of energy are renewable. We will never run out of renewable energy (at least in our lifetime, as long as humans will exist)

  • solar energy - the sun will always be there, and in abundance - the amount of solar energy intercepted by the Earth every minute is greater than the amount of energy the world uses in fossil fuels each year.
  • wind energy - the wind will always exist - The energy in the winds that blow across the United States each year could produce more than 16 billion GJ of electricity - more than one and one-half times the electricity consumed in the United States in 2000.
  • tidal energy - the moon which provides the forces that causes the tides will always be there
  • hydroelectric energy - unless there is a drastic change in rain patterns, it will always be there

A second advantage is that we can stop using fossil fuels to generate electricity. With renewable energy we can use as much electricity as we like without adding to global warming. Renewable resources are 'green', or environmentally friendly. This is because they do not emit carbon dioxide (the biggest contributor to global warming) into the atmosphere.

Here are a few of the advantages:

1. We can generate cleaner energy to keep the earth clean.

2.We can generate energy more efficiently.

3.We can preserve our fossil fuels because they take millions of years for the Earth to make.
Actually, none of those really occur and there is also millions of dead birds and bats.

Wind systems are based on 28 mph average speed. If the wind goes over this, they shut down, under and power is cubically reduced. At 14 mph, wind gives us 10% and at 11 mph and it shuts down again. As a result fossil fuel plants run at 100% of rated to compensate for wind variables.

The expected life of a wind system is shorter then the payback time. That means they actually are expected to cost us energy. They produce less energy then the energy it takes to build one! Hardly a good thing, but they feel so good.

There are a number of positives of wind energy. Some of them include being a free fuel, it produces zero greenhouse gases, it is also quite flexible in terms of the amount of energy produced.

Biggest advantage is that wind energy is free and renewable and does not release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Biggest disadvantage is that the wind does not always blow.
