CONS: Scarring children for life, living with the fact that a loved one you know is being abused/is abusing a child, deteriorating that child's self-esteem and idea of self-worth, abusing and deteriorating a child's trust and love in the abuser that might have previously connected, etc.
PROS:
Honestly, I don't have a single idea how child abuse could affect anyone positively. I don't think there *are* any pro's to child abuse, period.
There aren't any proven advantages and obviously there is no scholar that would recommend anyone to abuse a child. However, if you have survived child abuse you have to deal with a great deal of psychological and social problems. This can lead to surviver pride and might make you feel stronger and better prepared to face difficult situations. Surviving things like that can make you stronger. However, not everyone experiences any positive effects, but most people do experience some negative effects - psychological problems, underachievment, peer rejection, criminal behaviour, drug dependancy, internalization of the role as a victim or identification with the perpetrator etc. So if you are a surviver: many of the problems you face may be a result of child abuse, if you don't experience such problems - remember how resilient you are obviously when you face difficulties. If you are a parent: There is no way tat child abuse might help your child, so don't do it.
