crt monitor situation used
There are no technical advantages to CRT monitors anymore. The only thing they're good for is a cheap back up in case your LCD dies. They can be had for as little as $5 at garage sales, and $20 at local computer stores, as well as free on curbsides and from businesses or friends who are upgrading or just have old stuff sitting around. Also, freecycle, here in the U.S., is always giving them away.
At this point, I would say that a CRT had no advantages over a LCD monitor. The LCD is probably cheaper, it takes up less space, is easier on the eyes, and provides better revolutions.
CRT stands for Cathode Ray Monitor. These monitors have a glass screen.
A method of refreshing the image on a monitor. Instead of refreshing the entire image (non-interlaced), an interlaced monitor refreshes the odd-numbered scan lines first, then refreshes the even-numbered scan lines on the second pass. This reduces the amount of new information that has to be passed on each sweep, but causes almost unnoticeable flicker, that can result in eye fatigue.
It is cheaper than a LCD monitor.
