Best Answer

Starch is made of Carbon, Oxygen and Hydrogen.
Starch is made of glucose mainly and this is why it is referred to as a polymer of glucose. It has several units of glucose that are linked together.

Starch is just a polymer of glucose molecules (C6H12O6, in the pyranose ring form) in a chain one after another. It is exactly the same as glycogen except the glucose chains in starch connect to each other through a branch point every 30 monomers whereas glycogen connects every 10 monomers.
