With more major companies downsizing, the need for more work at home agents is increasing. These companies are outsourcing to the US now through third party sources. One of the most hired for positions would be virtual call center work. This is where you work at home as a customer service agent taking inbound calls for products or services. We have all seen infomercials that say operators are on duty, so call now. Some of those people are working at home on their own computer.

A couple of the best that I worked for was WestAtHome and Working Solutions.

Both companies had excellent online training and support. The pay was from $8 - $14 per hour, but it just depends on the job you perform. Many more companies like this exist and hire people daily. Check out the resources for more info.

There are many legitimate ways to make money on the internet. Do a search on Google for "internet jobs" or "make money online" and you'll come up with a flood of opportunities and fancy sales pages offering hype on how to make millions. Watch late Friday night television and you'll see infomercials pitching the same thing.

I think the real question though is not what are some good online at home jobs, the REAL question is what online jobs are good for the "internet marketing newbie". The truth is that an online "opportunity" is just a vehicle to making money but if you don't know how to 'market' on the internet, it won't matter how cool the opportunity is. This concept applies to affiliate programs, direct sales, Get Paid Today programs, etc. This key concept applies the same every time.

An online job that creates a significant income comes down to being able to do the following:

  1. Brand yourself as a leader in the internet marketing industry
  2. Generate leads (building a list of people to market to)
  3. Generate income from the people that say NO to your primary opportunity
  4. Know who your target market is (not every online job opportunity is meant to be offered to "just anybody")
  5. Market Online (creating websites with your own capture pages, using blogs, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, LinkedIn, pay-per-click-, viral marketing)

These concepts may seem like a lot for the internet opportunity seeker (especially newbies) but really isn't that complex when you have a system that trains and simplifies what may seems complex. Funny to think that millions of us view YouTube videos everyday and have Facebook accounts but never know that people are using those free social media channels to make significant incomes online. When choosing an online job, make sure the opportunity has a model that trains you on how to apply paid and free marketing techniques. Generating leads is vital (it's a numbers game, combining a proven online marketing business model and generating 25+ leads a day WILL convert a percentage of those leads to sales). That is how the heavy hitters do it and they started out just like you and I, internet newbies.

I started out in MLM, failed at it, but have learned how to market on the internet using a proven business model. I've finally been able to retire my wife

There are a wide range of companies that offer employment from home. In conjunction to being a reporter, newspaper editorialist, or freelance writer, you can also become an online customer service agent for companies like Home Shopping Network, Alpine Access, Amazon's Virtual Contact Center, and 1800FLOWERS. If customer service isn't a feasible job , then maybe it would be a good idea to take on freelance jobs like Odesk or transcription.
