Nonperishable food items would be any packaged items that would be considered "shelf stable" or do not require refrigeration, including but not limited to:

  • canned food (fruit, vegetables, sauces, soups, chili, tuna, chicken, sardines, etc)
  • breakfast cereals
  • crackers
  • cookies
  • cake mixes
  • dry pastas
  • peanut butter
  • dried herbs and spices
  • sugar
  • flour
  • powdered beverage mixes
  • powdered milk

These do not last forever, still have "best if used by" dates and should not be stored under hot temperatures.
