You do not have to feed these babies anything special. The mother will feed them her milk for 6 weeks after giving birth. Then the babies will eat the same food you feed the mother. She will teach them to eat the food you feed her.

We have a beautiful sow who is a half Wild Boar and half Alenteijo pig from Portugal. She is our first pig and we are still learning but generally we feed her corn, mangle wurzells, cabbage and anything from the garden.

We give her kitchen scraps - but absolutely no meat.

She will eat anything really so it's up to us to make sure it is suitable.

We also give her a small quantity of pig nuts as, apparently, it stops any problems with diarrhoea.

Pigs are like people, omnivores They are opportunistic feeders, often known as the catfish of the land. A farmer normally "grain feeds" pigs that are market bound. Grain usually being a corn and protein based pellet. They also eat hay.

Pigs have a diet that is most similar to a human's. Give them apples or corn or meat or whatever. Probably not candy or ice cream or stuff like that, though.

how much food should i feed my pig?

Determine how much food your pigs need to grow. Generally, a pig weighting around 30 lbs of body weight is roughly feed 7 lbs of feed. And a fully grown pig can eat between 15 and 50 lbs of feed daily depending on the size of your breed. You should provide some extra food to the pregnant and lactating pigs.

What do you feed a guinea pig when pregnant?

My Guinea Pig was pregnant, and I didn't even know!I fed her the usual alfalfa, grain, and fruits. Her baby, Butterscotch, is healthy, and loving. So, if I did know that she was pregnant, I would feed them the usual. If they still seemed a little hungry, I would give them a little more. But not too much! You need to give them foods which have pleanty of vitamin c in them for example kiwi and parsley ect

Is it ok to put a pregnant guinea pig with a non pregnant female guinea pig?

When I got my guinea pig, we didn't know she was pregnant, so about a month later, my sister got one that wasn't pregnant. It was a little less that a month after that that my guinea pig had 2 babies. During that time, though, Molly, the pregnant guinea pig, was acting very territorial, and Milly, the non pregnant guinea pig, was staying by herself and not having anything to do with Molly. So make sure that if you put a pregnant guinea pig with a non pregnant guinea pig, that the non pregnant guinea pig is a girl, or else there WILL be trouble.

Is there a test to tell if a female guinea pig is pregnant?

I don't think there is a test to tell if a guinea pig is pregnant, but a pregnant guinea pig will not let you rub its stomach. If you are still unsure, take your guinea pig to a vet.
