A homogeneous mixture shows no variance in its properties. A heterogeneous mixture shows more than one property.
For example, if you were to mix oil and water, the mixture would display two different properties because the oil will separate from the water. In that case you can see more than one property to your mixture, so it is classified as a heterogeneous mixture.
In contrast, a homogeneous mixture shows only one property. An example of this is the air your are breathing. The atmosphere is comprised of Nitrogen, Oxygen, Argon, Carbon Dioxide and several other gasses including water vapor.
A short answer:
- homogeneous: a mixture impossible to separate by physical procedures
- heterogeneous: a mixture possible to separate by physical procedures
An item that is homogeneous is completely uniform in its substance. An items that is heterogeneous is not uniform and has many components.
homogeneous means diffrrent and hetergeneous means the same
A heterogeneous is attracted to the opposite sex; where as a homogeneous is attracted to the same sex.
These words - homogeneous or heterogeneous - are not adequate fir width; width is a dimension.
It would be homogeneous....
it is homogeneous because you mix it and you blend it
its homogeneous. :) (just guessing....)
homogeneous
homogeneous
It would be homogeneous....
Rice grits is homogeneous, corn grits is homogeneous, rice and corn grits mixed is heterogeneous.
it is homogeneous because you mix it and you blend it
its homogeneous. :) (just guessing....)
Heterogenous
peach is heterogeneous or homogeneous?
homogeneous
heterogeneous
homogeneous
Mixtures can be homogeneous but also heterogeneous.
If it's got pulp in it, it would be heterogeneous -- otherwise, it is homogeneous.
Heterogenous
