There is no good will for guidance and counselling from those who matter- students, parents, parents and school administration.
Rehabilitation counseling focuses on helping people become employable. Guidance counseling can offer varied "counseling" services, such as a high school guidance counselor who might help one student with behavior issues, another student with family issues, and all students with academic and future plans.
Public schools employ guidance counselors at the elementary, middle and high school levels. Part of their duties is to access social problems with the students which includes mental counseling. Depending on the particular county, there are different agencies involved that can offer mental counseling for free when recommended by the guidance counselor.
Most states require that high school guidance counselors in public schools complete at least some graduate coursework in educational psychology, school counseling or a related field. Some state may require completion of an entire master's program.
