RPM is an acronym for Revolutions Per Minute. In the case of an automobile engine, it is the measurement of how fast the crankshaft is turning; One revolution being considered a single, complete rotation of the shaft.
Has to do with the rpms if it's idle not much power is giving out to the car from the fan belt to get very warm. Say next time you're in your car. Start the car give it a little gas where the rpm is almost at 2 rpms. Same goes for the a/c.
Idling is what your car is doing when it is just sitting somewhere running. As soon as you press on the gas it is no longer idling. Your idle speed is the number of RPMs your engine runs at when you are idling.
because you run them to hard and it causes wear and tear. Specialy when you drive alot at high rpms it causes metal to metal.
could be a stuck butterfly on either the carb or throttle body depending on if your fuel injected or not. if not that, probably something very serious.
Check the engine for proper cylinder compression. If the pressure is low then a blown head gasket could be leaking and causing the problem.
It depends on what type of car and what gear you are in
maybe your rpms gauge is broken.get it looked at by a professional
major vacuum leak?
no
because the engine needs to have a 20 seconds RPMs
Your car must have adequate oil pressure and you must allow the RPMs to exceed Approx. 5500 RPMs.
Your car or vehicle is in neutral, or the clutch is shot.
check and/or replace the transmission sensor
The rpms need to be high enough to keep the engine running. Most engines need at least 850 rpms to keep from stalling.
They may add some power at higher rpms, but will be alot noisier.
check engine mounts
The first thing that you need to check will be the coolant level..................
