What Robert plant mean by does anybody remember laughter?

Robert Plant is essentially exclaiming "Let's remember how to laugh!". Apparently Plant often used this phrase in celebration or at parties, where copius amounts of alchohol where consumed. It is easier to understand its meaning if you are British (Obviously, like Plant).

Robert Plant was a massive Beatles fan. He wept openly when the news was announced on Friday April 12th 1970 that the greatest band in the history of the universe were no more - this spurred him on to write one of the greatest songs in the history of the universe, Stairway to Heaven, in December of the same year.

It was not until they performed the song live in March 1971 that his now classic ad lib was uttered for the first time, causing lots of whoops of excitement and a sense of empathy, although was also greeted with a more restrained and hushed reaction.

The truth hurts, sometimes.

I remember hearing it for the fist time, and cringing a bit, beacause the kind of mentality I had in 1971 was nothing to do with the dream being over. I was only 9 for frigs sake. I was too young to live through the 60's. Or underand it.

But it is curious that over the years this statement has become easier to understand for me. It was all about the era in which he was referring to every time he casually reminded us all that the dream was well and truly over.
