Some people might name Cuba as a communist country in the Caribbean Sea.
The leadership extols the "virtues" of Marx's communism, however, Cuba is basically a Dictatorship where the government is the main owner of the means of production. Other political parties are banned and there is no true freedom of speech, nor is there any outlook for the government of Fidel Castro to follow the principles of Marxism. Defections of Baseball athletes is common, and for decades peoples of all social & economic standing have risked their lives escaping from Cuba. Medical technology in Cuba was not sufficient for Castro when he became ill. He traveled to Spain for his medical treatment. This, after over 1/2 a century of Castro as dictator seems to fly in the face of "equal treatment for all".
