It varies from island to island, but mostly hot and dry. The islands to the East and North are desert like with hot weather and around 350 days of sunshine a year. The islands to the South and West are more tropical and humid.

Temperatures range from 25 - 32 degrees throughout the year with a brief rainy season. The dryest islands are Sal, Boa Vista, Maio and Santa Luzia (which is uninhabitable). There are no hurricanes that affect the islands.

They have year round sunshine and virtually no rainfall.

This pleasant climate makes the various islands a sun paradise, especially at times when more traditional destinations are experiencing their winter season
