Yes and no. It's rather hard to explain this one. After the rumble, the Greasers gained some respect from the Socs, but they never really got along afterwards. There was still tension between them due to the views of society.

They can't peacefully exist. Things are tough all around, as Cherry Valance said. Things will always be like that. Greasers fight because they feel too much and they are defending themselves for the Socs attack. You can't stop the Socs from getting drunk. The thing that seperates the groups is not only the finantal situation, but how they deal with stress and their emotions. Greasers feel too much of their emotions. Socs block it out so they are cut off from their senses. That means they feel nothing. They get drunk like the Greasers, but Greasers don't fight while all boozed up.

Greasers won the rumble, but the soc vs greaser fight never truly ends. Greasers can't win because people will still think of them as juvenile delinquents no matter what they do.
