When were solar panels first introduced to the public to be sold?

I am wondering the answer to this question too as I have been searching on the web and there is nothing. I know that they were invented in 1954 so I imagine they could have been sold in the 80/90s, however they would only have started to sell and become more common from 2005 and onwards. (a complete guess)

How did the tornado occur in Alaska?

There have been several tornadoes in Alaska, all of which have occurred in the southern part of the state. Tornadoes are a product of strong thunderstorms, which require an unstable atmosphere. Instability occurs with a warm, moist lower atmosphere. Because of the cold climate, tornadoes are exceedingly rare in Alaska. But, contrary to popular belief, Alaska is not always cold. Temperatures have occasionally risen has high as the 90s with warm air masses surging up from the south. Such conditions could support thunderstorms and tornadoes.

What patterns can you see in winds that occur near water?

Near large bodies of water you get "on-shore" and "off-shore" breezes. They're caused by the difference in the rate that land and water gain and lose heat. Water is slower to gain heat, but also slower to lose it. Land is quicker to gain heat, and quicker to lose it. So, say for example, it is summer in Florida. The water is about 80 degrees F. The sand will be over 100, and the land in general will be in at least the 90s. This difference makes the breeze go from the water to the land. At night, the land cools off more quickly and becomes cooler than water, so the breeze reverses.
