A good thing they got out of the Louisiana Purchase was that the U.S was beginning to grow larger. It was also priced well because they were meant to pay more but they bargained with the French and ended up making a good deal. Even Jefferson saw that we would gain from the Louisiana Purchase so he made a commitment without the approval of congress. Another thing was that there was gold, deep in the hills and lots of water.
