Was Hitler involved in animal rights?

Hitler loved animals, in fact he detested any form of animal cruelty and if I'm not mistaken he was a vegetarian.

I disagree. it is a fact that when Hitler was a child he shot rats as a form of entertainment. on top of that he ate meat occasionally despite his claims of being a vegetarian. not only did he shoot rats but he also peed in a billy goat's mouth when he was a teenager. as a result it was thought that he got bit in the penis. you can find more information on that in the book "Explaining Hitler" by Ron Rosenbaum on page XXX in the introduction.

Although it was said he was a lover of animals, I doubt he was an advocate to them - he killed his dog testing cyanide tablets shortly before his death. He believed the tablets were fakes and needed to test them; let's just say his German Shephard Blondi drew the short straw.

It's a little difficult to separate truth from Propaganda. Whatever Hitler's true feelings may have been, it's inarguable that Nazi Germany was the first nation to ban vivisection and that many other laws concerning animal welfare were also passed... for example, laws concerning the proper and humane methods of slaughter (there's some evidence that the impetus for these came mainly from others in the Nazi party, specifically Goering and Himmler, rather than from Hitler personally, but it's certainly true they would not have been passed without Hitler's tacit approval).

Also, while the story about testing the pills on Blondi is true, Hitler did not personally do this. Eyewitness accounts state that he couldn't bear even to be in the room, and that he became visibly disturbed when he saw the results. He had all his dogs killed just before he comitted suicide.)

It depends on what you mean. If you're talking about "what Hitler tortured when he died," then the answer is no. Hitler supposedly killed himself with a tablet and a gun to the forehead. Some people believed that it was his stunt double that was killed and that Adolf Hitler escaped the fighting and went into hiding. -3njoy LL
