Technically, 'America' did not exist during the period categorised as the European Renaissance. However, during the same time period the continent that is now called North America was largely populated by various hunter/gatherer tribes. On the continent now known as South America, a well establish agricultural civilisation existed. (possibly several civilisations?) The level of technologies available at that time is still fiercely debated.
