Without refraction of light eyes cannot see and eye sight problems could not be rectified. Camera cannot function. Pojector fails to magnify the image and projects it on the screen. Optical fibre could not have been made into reality.

Diffraction is used a lot in discovering the structures of materials and atoms. It has been used alot in discovering medicines and drugs. Look up DNA and diffraction as x-ray diffraction was used to discover the double helix structure. Also Braggs law explains a lot of uses for diffraction.
