Stroking an engine means changing to a crankshaft with a longer stroke such as putting a crank from a 400 into a 350 block.
Changing to a different head could change the compression ratio and the amount of flow through the intake and exhaust.
There's no way to answer that, but putting 305 heads on a 350 would increase compression ratio by about 1 point, which usually increases hp by about 20.
a bad head gasket or intake manifold gasket.
no
The 283 has a larger bore diameter, so use the 283 head gaskets.
Not if the are the same fitting wise and gaskets are used if necessary. There could be differences as the vortec is designed differently.
Yes The 305 throttle body injection system will be too lean for a 350, and will destroy it.
yes the heads will bolt right on but if you are putting a 305 in there the flywheel is different in the sense that the 327 has a small hole where the flywheel meets the crank (you need the starter for the 305)
igot some 305 neads trying to find out if thay are big viles the numbers are 14014416
I don't know why you would want to spend money on 305 heads, when you could take that money and buy a set of good 350 heads already beefed up and ready to go.
usually a bad head gasket or cracked head
That head was used on the 305 engines from 1987 to 1991. NOTHING SPECIAL about that head at all.
YES
