It was basically survival of the fittest, smartest and fastest. The idea of differential features. Charles Darwin was a scientist and genetic GENEious ( <-pun :D) He studied in the Galapagos islands. And theorised about the birds and their beaks and iguanas. He was inspired to go into further studies and was the "inspiration" for the book "the Darwin awards" which is sort of making fun of him and his theory.
:) happy to help
It is not a matter of agreement, it is a matter of accepting the overwhelming evidences in support of the theory of evolution by natural selection.
There is no " what do I understand by the term evolution. " Evolution is the change in allele frequency over time in a population of organisms. This is a observed and observable fact. It is no longer Darwin's theory of evolution by natural selection, but has had over 150 years of modification and improvement to become the modern synthesis. A short definition of natural selection. " The non-random survival of randomly replicating organisms. "
Robert Hooke is the English scientist who coined the term "cell."
Evolution is something that nobody seriously doubts, the evidence is all around. But you have in mind the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection: a scientific theory originated by Darwin after his voyage in the Research ship Beagle. Some religious sects take exception to the element of this theory that ascribes completely new species to the mechanisms that Darwin describes, wishing to reserve the creation of species to God's work alone. Darwin's theory features: natural variation by sexual reproduction, with mutations. The elimination of most dfferent forms because they are not well-adapted to the conditions. The survival of a FEW different forms because they suit the conditions better (or the conditions have changed enough to make them more successful at present) If different forms survive and multiply, then over millions of generations, the forms of survivors can be dramatically different. It is difficult to observe the effects of millions of generations, except in creatures with very, very short lifespans - but there are many of those too: bacteria, flies and insicts for example. Even so, Darwin's theory is taught in every state of the US and every developed country because it is successful in predicting and explaining observed data: this is the test of all scientific theories. /Brian W
The Steady State theory is now an obsolete theory. It was an interesting alternative to the normal Big Bang theory, but it doesn't agree with observations. The Steady State theory is now an obsolete theory. Charles Darwin was best known for his theory of evolution. He wrote the book The Origin of Species. He is known for his journey on the Beagle, and for developing the theory of adaptation and natural selection. Animal species evolved into their current state--humans probably developed from primates to neanderthals to Homo sapiens.
Theory of Evolution. ----------------------------- One should be careful with calling this a theory for the beginning of life; the theory of evolution does not state how life began, only how it evolved. How actually life started is still a mystery, although process is being made.
Not sure how to answer this as scientific theories are not subject to the law but are supported by overwhelming evidence. The only time that evolution or the theory that supports it is in a court of law is when some public school somewhere, or some state somewhere tries to introduce religion into the classroom disguised inder the terms creation " science : or intelligent design. There is no theory of evolution put forward by Charles Darwin that includes intelligent design. If fact the theory of evolution by natural selection is the antithesis of intelligent design.
Evolution - a unifying principle of biologyThe theory of evolution states that modern organisms are descendants of ancient organisms and that modifications accumulated over time explain the apparent changes and differences among modern forms of life. This 'descent with modification' theory was central to Charles Darwin's argument of biological evolution, an idea spearheaded by Jean-Baptiste Lamarck (1744-1829). The idea of evolution proposes that animals and plants can change over time, and are not static forms created at once and independent of each other. Lamarck and Darwin proposed different explanation of how these changes may occur. Darwin's proposal of natural selection has proved correct and evidence from biology, earth science, and cosmology all corroborate the basic mechanism of natural selection.

Charles Darwin was born in Britain, which does not have states. His birth town was Shrewsbury, which is the county town of Shropshire.

Most people actually state that Darwin beat Wegener to the theory of continental drift as he mentioned in most of his studies about the continents drifting apart and fitting together.
Charles Darwin's Intelligence Quotient was 165, or, as some state, 160. Because Charles never took any form of an IQ test, we can only estimate...however, definitely between 160 - 180.
