Check the fuse box for wiggling fuses, also make sure that the harness is sitting tight.
With your key in the OFF position, push in and hold the odometer button. Turn the key to the ON position, the odometer will display 000000 after a couple of seconds. at this time, the maintenance light has been reset. This light comes on approximately every 5000 miles to indicate time for an oil change. If you change the oil yourself, just remember to reset the light even if it is not coming on.
With the vehicle off, press the odometer button and move the ignition key to accessories until the light goes off. Release odometer button.
The odometer light will stay on if the headlights are on a 1997 Dodge Status. Be sure to click the lights off even after shutting the vehicle off.
Make sure odometer (ODO) is slelected (not trip odometer). Hold in odometer "reset" botton. Turn Igniotion to ON but do not start engine. Light will flash and go off. Turn Ignition OFF. Release "reset" button.
Resetting the maintenance required light: Step 1 - Turn on engine. Set odometer to "Trip A" by pushing the odometer button until Trip A comes up. Step 2 - Turn off engine. Step 3 - Hold in odometer button while turning on engine. Step 4 - Keep holding odometer button until light goes off completely. Note: I've also had the tire pressure light come on. That one will reset itself after you drive away provided your tires are properly inflated.
There's a little rubber plug to the left of the odometer. Gently pry this off and with a mini screwdriver push the reset button in and replace the plug. Ths light comes on every 7500 miles.
If the speedometer and abs light are not working then you have a speed sensor problem. If the speedometer or odometer are not working then you will need to take it to the dealership and have them send it off for repair.
Put the key into the ignition and press the odometer button. While holding down the odometer button, turn the key to the on position. You will see "-----"on the odometer display. It will count down "-----" "----" "---" "- -" "-". Then you will see zeros on the odometer display "000000". You can now release the odometer button. This will reset the maintenance light on your dash!!!!!!
Make sure the odometer is set to total miles not trip.With the key in the off position, push in and hold the odometer reset button (ODO).Turn the key to the on position without starting the car.Continue to hold down the odometer reset button until the maintenance required light goes off (about 20 seconds). You'll see the bars running across the screen and the light will turn off.
To reset the service light, fix the problem that cause the light to go off. Then turn the key to "On", press the odometer button until mileage shows, turn the key to "Off", hold down trip odometer reset button, turn the key 'On',release the trip odometer reset button after the display counts from 10 to 0.
With the key "off", push and hold the odometer reset button. With your other hand, turn the key to the "On" position. The odometer will count down dashes(-) and then display 000000. Let go of the odometer reset button. Turn key off and then on and start the engine. "Maint. Required" light should stay off
To turn off the maint. req light (it comes on every 3k -5k mi. for oil change interval). After I change my oil I do the following: 1. depress and hold the odometer reset button 2. turn the ignition switch to on, then off 3 times (do not engage the starter), the third time the odometer will countdown "_ _ _ " then "_ _" then "_" then blank. 3. if the check engine light was just an oil change warning then the check engine light will go out.
