I don't think there is any hard and fast answer to this question. Can you have it done? yes. Is it a good idea? No. Because of the close contact involved, you risk exposing your dental professional to the flu needlessly. Also, many times the gag reflex is hyperactive when you are sick so it just isn't a good idea.
