And what do you mean go to court or....do you have any reason to think it isn't your debt and obligation to pay? Court would only confirm what you know. And BK is very much a court procedure too...many times over.

How are you able to help with buying a home for the first time with bad credit.?

Do things that will improve your credit score. Pay off your credit cards as much as you can, contributing most to the one with the highest interest rate. If you have declared bankruptcy in the past, you should wait until after 10 years before the bankruptcy is no longer listed on your credit report. Look into whether you qualify for the $8000 federal first-time home buyer tax credit.

Will the 8000 be refunded or will just reduce your adjusted gross income?

The tax credit amount does not have any affect on your AGI nor on your taxable income amount. Your federal income tax liability if any will be reduced by up to the 8000 of your FTHBTC. If your federal income liability is less than the 8000 amount then you will receive a refund of the amount that is left. The 8000 FTHBTC is a refundable credit and if you do not have any federal income tax liability you will receive the 8000 amount as a refund.

I claimed the first time home buyer tax credit what should i expect on this year's taxes?

Its an 8000 dollar tax credit. that's the max you can get. its 10 percent of what you paid. So if your house was 50,000 you get 5,000 in tax credit. So take the amount you paid x .1

What is the largest whole numbers that round off to 8000 to the nearest thousand?

8499 should certainly be rounded to 8000, though I would argue that 8500 is the largest number that should be rounded to 8000.

What should you do if you had a cc judgment against you for 6000 and you paid 3000 and three years later a new credit agency has you in court wanting 8000 and says you only paid 200?

No credit agency will sue you. I believe you mean collection agency. Send the collection people a Cease and Desist letter (google "fair credit act cease desist). Then get a free credit report (your right!!)(the score doesn't matter so don't pay to get it). Then dispute the debt w/ the credit bureaus (the dispute letter will be found w/ the Cease and desist letter).

Do you have to claim the 8000 first time home buyers tax credit as income on your next tax filing?
