What does AD stands for in English?

AD stands for the Latin Anno Domini or 'in the year of our lord'.

Why do people say after death of Jesus Christ instead of Anno domini?

Anno Domini does not mean "after" the death of Jesus. It is a Latin term that means "The Year of Our Lord." So ostensibly the modern Gregorian calendar has its start date anchored on the birth year of Jesus (although it is generally held that Jesus was born 4-7 years before the 1st year of the Gregorian calendar).

What does AD stand for when refering to a date?

The meaning of AD is Anno Domini or Year of our Lord referring to the year of Christ's birth. AD also means "after death", meaning after the death of Jesus Christ. *I disagree. After Death is incorrect; Anno Domini is the only proper meaning of AD.

Does AD mean After Death?

Anno Domini is the Latin term for AD, which means "in the year of our Lord." If it was to mean 'After Death' as in Jesus Christ's death, there would be about 33 years that wouldn't be BC or AD. Science has taken religion out of historical dating and is now using BCE (Before Common Era) and CE (Common Era) for BC and AD respectively.

What does A D mean in dates?

The AD stands for After Death in reference to Jesus Christ. ie a date like 200 bc means 200 years before the birth of Jesus Christ, and 2000 ad means 2000 years after Jesus Christ`s death. AD is a Latin term "Anno Domini" meaning "the Year of Our Lord" and references Jesus' birth not his death. So 2000 a.d. means 2000 years after Jesus' birth not after his death. And 100 b.c. means 100 years before Jesus birth. So time was divided by the birth of Jesus alone not his birth and his death. Events are considered happening before his birth or after his birth. AD doesn't have anything to do with Jesus' death.
