Pasi community is a non-aryan community or one of the aborigins of India who converted to Hinduism with the invasion of their land through north western side of India by aryan. It was an aborigin tribe surviving independently in the north India of present uttar pradesh. With the aryanisation of India and migration of aryans towards eastern India this community also got influence with vedic culture and later adopted vedic rites and rituals along with tribal faith too. Gradually they converted to Hinduism and placed to the lower category in the Hindu social stratification. In the post independence India they are placed in the category of scheduled caste or untouchables. Though it is fact that during pre-independence India pasi community was not included as a member of Hindu society. They were cosidered as untouchable and reside isolated from Hindu society.
