JK= Juscelino Kubitschek de Oliveira was elected president of Brazil in the 1955 elections

The great work of JK was the construction of Brasilia, Brazil's new capital. With the transfer of capital from Rio de Janeiro to Brasilia, JK wanted to develop the central region and away from the center of the political decisions of a densely populated area. With capital from international lending, JK able to complete and inaugurate Brasilia on April 21, 1960.

The economic policy of developmental Juscelino presented positive and negative points for our country. The entry of multinationals created jobs, but left our country more dependent on foreign capital. The investment in the industrialization left side of the countryside, harming the agricultural workers and agricultural production. The country gained a new capital, but the external debt contracted for this work, increased significantly. The migration and uncontrolled rural exodus has increased poverty, misery and violence in big cities in the Southeast.
