1. Open the door to your Lexmark printer where the ink goes - this is located in the front end of the X945E model;
2. The Waste Toner Box is not exactly a box or bottle; however it is black and rectangular in shape and on the X945E model and it is stored under the ink cartridges and flushes with them. It can be easily missed. Pull out gently to avoid some of the black-power ink left inside spilling.
3. Install the new Waste Toner Box and close the printer door. Your printer should be back online shortly after.
On Model 540 I just removed waste toner box and dumped it out and replaced it/ Works fine. BTW the waste cartridge is under the color cartridges -- you have to open color cartridge door, then the front door then the door below color cartridges. NOTE: empty the cartridge outside and be carefull handling it. The toner floats around and gets on everything.
They are not refillable so dont try and waste your time and money.
laser toner consist of : developer drum - where the powder toner gets cooked magnetic roller - where the powder toner gets charged then sticks and gets applied to drum pcr - this is a roller right below the drum this is to secure the paper into the drum toner hopper - where powder toner is stored and here is where magnetic roller pulls toner waste toner hopper - where CHARGED powder toners goes
Good question. The answer is yes, sort of. The truth is almost all toner cartridges have both a waste bin and a toner half together. On about 95% of the cartridges that HP builds, the waste bin is attached to the toner half. Canon is about the same ratio, since a good portion of their cartridges are variations of the HP cartridges. But when you get into Brother, Xerox, Samsung, Sharp and others, then you will see on some of those printers you have to buy the halves separately. For example if you owned a Brother HL series printer, like the HL 2140, you would have to, at some point, purchase both the TN360 and the DR360 (with Brother the TN = toner and the DR = drum). The thing here is that even though it has two separate halves, you need to connect them together to form a single unit before you can use them in the printer. The drum half is almost always where the waste bin is located, not just with Brother but on all cartridges. On large commercial copiers it is the same basic setup, with a toner cartridge and a waste bin or in this case a waste tank. The exception here is that the two are not each others halves but two separate units entirely. The idea with having the waste bin/waste tank or drum unit separate is that you won't have to replace the drum or waste bin/tank just because you ran out of toner. I hope this answered your question clearly.
Take it to best buy they can handle it safely.
When you use up ink toner cartridges, they often go into a landfill and end up sitting there for years. Since the business and private users of ink toner cartridges go through thousands of them every year, it's important that something is done about all of this waste. This is why recycling ink toner cartridges is so important, and why it should always be something you do whenever you switch out your toner cartridges.
I'm looking for the same thing in Phoenix... did you ever find any place to recycle them? (2009-1-22) Diane R.
Searching different websites for copier toner might seem like a waste of time, but this could be a way for you to locate a much cheaper price on this item than you are used to paying. Since many offices get their toner from a copier maintenance company, they may be amazed at what other prices are out there.
A LaserJet toner cartridge is a cartridge made up of 2 halves. The halves are either designed as a single unit or designed as two individual units that will work as a single unit once installed. Canon and HP have mostly toner cartridges that are two halves that make up one unit or toner cartridge. The two halve are made up of a drum half and a toner half. The Drum half or waste bin has four main components. The drum which is made of metal has a unique coating on it so that allows it to apply the toner to the paper. It is the only part of the cartridge that makes direct contact with the paper. There is also a PCR or Primary Charge Roller that sits up against the drum. Directly under the drum is the wiper blade, whose job it is to clean all of the old waste toner off the drum as it turns during printing. The Toner half is made up 3 main components. First there is the Mag or Developer Roller. It is often referred to as the Mag because there is a magnet that is in the developer roller that runs the length of it. Not all cartridges have a magnet in the developer roller but the majority do. Directly under the Mag is the Doctor Blade and it is it's job to make sure the Mag gets a even coat of Toner. The Toner is the last component, its specific elements vary for between cartridges but without it, we'd all be using inkjets or working on our handwriting. No matter what style of cartridge, almost all have these two halve in some form.
Normally $1,200 including the barrel waste (standing)
Safety Note: Be very careful when emptying out the old toner from the waste box - you can easily create a very fine dust which should not be inhaled. It can be an lung irritant. That's why modern laser printers have a disposable cartridge system.It is usually best to buy a new waste toner box, since these are designed for single use and discard.You must carefully clean one particular part of the box upon which the sensor operates:Take the emptied waste box and hold it upright in front of you the way it is installed in the printer, with the transparent side facing towards you.There are 2 round holes at the top of the box where the waste toner comes in - pay attention to the left hand hole.Just below this hole is a narrow transparent section which is the highest point on the transparent side of the waste box - this part MUST be clean. This part of the waste box fits in a recess on the printer where the sensor is located.I used a cotton wool ball attached to a short length of soft wire to get inside the narrow section and pick up all traces of toner.Re fit your waste box and everything will be OK.
Trying to repair a heater core can be a waste of time. Just replace it with a new one.
