PPP server down is an error occurring (mainly?) on Orange Broadband Unlimited when Livebox cannot communicate with exchange server.
The reason for that situation is not clear. Customer Service by Orange is generally completely useless and cannot offer much help apart from waiting.
However, there is a great possibility you can fix that by yourself as long as you have access to a different ADSL modem.

The key notes are: - it doesn't have to be the router mentioned in the post. It (probably) can be any router as long as it handles PPPOA and PPPOE protocols. Not sure if PPPOE is necessary. PPPOA is a must. - if this procedure doesn't work, try setting the modem into PPPOE (see if it connects) and then back to PPPOA (see if connects). If both atempts connected, you should be then able to use your livebox as well.
