Estimated in January 2009 at 58,000,000 US residents.
How many people have health insurance? 85% of people in the US have health insurance. 97% of Massachusetts residents have health insurance. How about we help the 15% of people get insurance with tax breaks to pay for their insurance, instead of messing up 85% of the peoples current insurance coverage.

Millions of people work for health insurance companies across the US. These range from local representatives to high level management and CEOs.
In the US, some qualifying reasons to drop health insurance would be because one of the people originally covered becomes eligible for Medicare, one of the people covered dies, or if the people covered were married but then get divorced (unless maintaining health insurance is manadated in the divorce decree).
Yes, US retirees get health insurance. It's called Medicare. There are supplements you can purchase as well. I believe they help cover medication or special treatments.
I assume the question is referring to the total number of people in the US without health *insurance* rather than health *care*. According to a US Census Bureau report from September 2009 (based on 2008 data), there are 46.3 million persons without health insurance in the United States.

It's here. Government Provided Health Insurance is still not here. At the moment there is no government option. "Health Insurance" has been available in the US for almost 100 years.
In the United States approximately 2/3 of the population has health insurance. Only about 20% of those uninsured do not qualify for private insurance. Most states have formed Health Insurance Risk Pools that will insure these individuals. Te democrats keep telling us that health insurance is unattainable or not affordable. That is not true. Most people can afford health insurance the instead decide to buy that extra car or plasma television or weekend home. I agree with Mrs. Clinton's proposal on some points. Health insurance should be made mandatory. In doing that they will have to force companies to take everyone that applies. It will change the way people view their health. I think it will be as helpful as mandatory liability auto insurance. There are many sites a person can go and get competitive quotes for health insurance.
Some companies that offer affordable health care are Blue Cross and the CHIP program. Blue Cross is an affordable health insurance company for adults with low paying jobs .The CHIP program insures children from broken homes that have no way of receiving insurance from their parents.
