wheel bearings mountaineer 2004
My front wheel bearings just went in my 04 mountaineer, and we tried to replace them ourselves, but in order to get to the bearings you have to have the truck up on a lift, so unfortunately we had to send it to a mechanic.
I recently did this for my 2004. I found it was cheaper to replace the entire wheel hub then to buy the bearings. The bonus is the new wheel hub comes with the bearings already to go.
You don't. They are sealed bearings pressed into the rim.
No. The bearings are not that type.No. The bearings are not that type.
I purchased the bearings and had my repair man do it. Very reasonable about $200
In the brake rotors.
Why are you changing wheel bearings so soon on a 2004 ? shouldn't this still be under warranty ???? I have a 1998 with 192,000 miles (I am the original owner) and have never changed the front wheel bearings ... They are still good too. I don't know about a 2004.... but on my 98, when I did the front brakes, I changed the front rotors too. New rotors came with new races installed in them already. Get new seals and Just clean and repack the bearings with grease and set the pre-load properly. Thats my 2cents worth. Good luck
they are not adjustable they are sealed units
